Number 1 is:
Start out strict so they will mind you- you can always relax just a little bit, but it is hard to become more strict- they don't take you seriously.
Number 2 is:
Stay on top of grading!!! 'Nuff said.
Number 3 is:
Get the email address of your student's parents the first week of the school year.
Those are all great suggestions! I was a first year teacher last year and I believe that you hit it right on the nail, those things are really important to remember. Oh my, if only I would have known how easy it is to loose track of grading I would have been way more prepared! Great advice Lori!
